The objectives of the CMVA shall be to:

• Advance scientific, engineering, and technical knowledge in the fields of interest;
• Gather and share information relating to the fields of interest which are useful to the individual and beneficial to the general public;
• Encourage the development and application of the fields of interest through presentations, discussions, publications, courses of instruction, personnel certification or other means; and
• Encourage the development and application of Canadian and international standards of practice for the fields of interest and for personnel certification.
