Oil & Particle Analysis

Oil & Particle Analysis is analogous to doing a blood test on patients. Like blood, oil contains information about the system in which it circulates.

Oil Analysis tests addresses three aspects of a lubricated system:

  1. Degradation of the oil
  2. Contamination
  3. Wear and Fatigue of the system being lubricated

Several test methods are used to analyze oil condition and contamination. Depending on the machine where the oil is circulating, the following are the different test packages.

There are two ways to get your oil samples for analysis. Machine Healthcare technician can collect the oil samples for you or sample bottles will be sent to you for your personnel to collect the oil samples which will then be sent back to us for analysis.

If you wish to have the 2nd option, Machine Healthcare can provide you with the Oil Sampling Kit (Item 3040)along with instructions on how to properly collect the oil in order to avoid external contamination of the sample.

A short video clip showing how to take oil samples from a hydraulic system was taken. Tips follow after the video. Total running time: 1 minute 29 seconds.
