Infrared Thermography

A technology that detects the electromagnetic spectrum beyond the visible light spectrum, Infrared Thermography offers a few applications that is beneficial in condition monitoring and in the maintenance of building facilities.

ECS2 Group currently subcontracts out infrared Thermography services to professional infrared thermography inspectors who meet our high standard of expectations when it comes to reliable service, experience, and equipments used. We have worked with these inspectors in the past and we can back their work ethics and professionalism.

Below are the Infrared Services that ECS2 Group offers:

Electrical Inspections

Avoid being shutdown drastically because of faulty electrical components. Any equipment that has electricity in it has a potential problem that can put individual's safety at risk, fire, unscheduled downtimes, equipment failures, energy waste, and decreased equipment reliability. These includes transformers, breakers, transmission lines, disconnects, fuse clips, and switchgears. Hot spots get detected and categorized in terms of Low, Medium, and High priority so you can make appropriate corrective actions.

Reports include visual image, IR image, equipment information, findings, and recommendation.

Roof Inspections

It's been said that the roof is the single most expensive part of a building to replace - that is, if you replace the whole roof in one time. Infrared identifies the part of the roof that needs replacing by detecting the electromagnetic spectrum coming from the wet spot of the roof. Every foot of the roof is thermally inspected and compared. IR Roof Inspection is done late in the evening to avoid solar loading and at least two days after the last rainfall.

Know where the moisture is penetrating your roof and replace only that portion of the roof that needs replacing. This will save you money.

Moisture Damage/Mold Growth

Standing moisture on walls behind wallpapers, borders, and on the ceiling, are not usually and quickly visible. The danger of a standing moisture are that it compromises the integrity of that part of the structure that has standing moisture and also promotes the growth of mold. Negative health effects from breathing mold spores are widely documented. Removal of mold in the building can be a costly and frustrating experience that one does not need to get into.

Infrared will detect and locate moistures on any surface part of the building.

Refractory Inspection

Thinning of insulation bricks in kilns, torpedo laddles, furnaces, pipings, and tanks can lead to loss production time and can put personnel safety at risk. When there is insulation degration inside these equipments, a large thermal variance is produced on the spot where a problem exist.

By doing a comparison and direct thermal inspection on the equipment, a potential problem is identified.

Report includes thermal and visual image and temperature readings.
